Some frequently asked questions...
Is Microblading the same as a tattoo?
In a way. Microblading is a tattoo without the commitment. The skin is made up go three main layered levels- the Epidermis (top), the Dermis (middle) and the subcutaneous (bottom). Conventional cosmetic tattooing implants pigment, by way of machine, into the upper dermis layer, where it sits relatively protected forever. Microblading is referred to as non-permanent or semi-permanent tattooing because the pigment is superficially implanted with a single-use, manual tool (not a machine) into the upper most Epidermis layer of the skin- the layer that exfoliates off naturally. Over time, the micro bladed pigment will exfoliate out of the skin naturally. External factors like the use of skincare with exfoliants, how much oil the individual's skin produces, use of bleaching agents and exposure to the sun will speed up this exfoliation and fade the microbladed tattoo.
How long does the appointment take?
Session lengths will vary, depending on the type of micropigmentation you have booked. Microblading sessions are booked in 2 and a half hour blocks, allowing a casual pace and lots of time to design the brow shape to your satisfaction before the Microblading process starts.
